Come discover all that Ithaca, New York and Cayuga Health has to offer!Position Overview:The scheduler/ registration clerk will greet patients and maintain forms and information in patients' records and schedules. Greets patients and visitors and welcomes them to Cayuga Heart Institute.What you'll do:* Maintains a friendly, compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and peers both in person and via telephone and email.* Handle inquiries and patient intake.* Ensures that all paperwork is complete and information is entered into the system correctly.* Maintains a clean and organized work environment.* Performs insurance data entry. Ensures necessary approvals and authorizations are present prior to procedures.* Ensures that paperwork is kept stocked at front desk, in CHI and in the cardiac catheterization lab.* Communicates to charge nurse any issues and patient arrivals.* Schedules procedures appropriately.* Has the ability to be flexible in assisting both patients and teammates as needed.* Coordinates tasks with other health care team members.Minimum Qualifications:* Education: =/>18 years of age, GED or HS diploma* Experience: Previous patient care experience is a plus* Licensure: not required* Physical Requirements: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds; Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred pounds; Ability to stand for extended periods; Fine motor skills; Visual acuity.At this time Cayuga Health System will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.If you are interested in applying for this position and you require an accommodation, please contact Cayuga Health System at ...@cayugamed.orgCayuga Health System Commitment to Diversity, Equity & InclusionCayuga Health System commits to treating all people with dignity so that everyone who comes to us is safe, cared for, and respected.
