Job Title: Construction Senior Bookkeeper & Staff Accountant

A client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior bookkeeper or staff accountant to record and manage financial transactions. In this role, your duties will include maintaining accurate financial records, conducting regular audits, and monitoring income and expenses. You'll also be collaborating closely with the management to develop budgets, process invoices, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
  • Preparing and analyzing budgets and performing general bookkeeping
  • Managing accounts receivable and payable
  • Reviewing and processing reimbursement forms
  • Preparing and filing taxes as necessary
  • Coordinating with project managers to track job costs and provide necessary financial information
  • Preparing and maintaining payroll records
  • Monitoring financial transactions and reports
  • Processing transactions and conducting financial audits
  • Tracking project revenues and expenses for cost control
  • Establishing and implementing financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline is preferred
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a bookkeeper/staff accountant in a construction environment
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principle
  • Experience with industry-specific accounting software, such as QuickBooks for Construction
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
