They are seeking a Sr. UX Designer. This position entails employing human-centered design research methodology (also referred to as design research or design thinking) to investigate, analyze, and assess the behaviors of specific demographics. From there, it involves translating these insights into valuable information and system designs to enhance processes, programs, and agile teams. The role includes defining, structuring, and conducting in-person ethnographic research, user and customer experience evaluations (both in-person and remote), and helping create breakthrough ideas. Additionally, the role provides UI design direction using our user experience strategy and design system best practices.

This is a global role and will actively support solutions in North America, South America, Europe, and Indonesia.

Focus:

  • Design, develop, and review user-centric solutions for physical and digital processes, including information architectures, requirements, specifications, navigation design, flows, and wireframes. Create and update design standards documentation to align with modern UX principles.
  • Lead dynamic workshops focused on customer/user experience and product strategy, guiding teams in defining and shaping vision. Conduct thorough in-person ethnographic research and user/customer experience evaluations. Delve deeply into physical processes to offer comprehensive insights for holistic solutions, incorporating digitization where applicable.
  • Mentor other team members in Human-Centered Design and Agile, leading by example in craftsmanship, accountability, and behavior.
  • Interface with other process and technology development teams for project and system support.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Skill Set:

  • High School Diploma or GED and ten (10) years of experience in Human-Centered Design, User Experience, or other User Interface-related work; OR
  • Associate degree and seven (7) years of experience in Human-Centered Design, User Experience, or other User Interface-related work; OR
  • Bachelor s degree and five (5) years of experience in Human-Centered Design, User Experience, or other User Interface-related work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A background in heavy industry (mining, utilities, oil & gas, telecom, logistics, manufacturing, etc.) or comparative work experience through consulting, full-time, or contract work.
  • A human-centered approach to improving complex processes and developing new products and applications.

Ability to:

  • Participate and conceptualize product strategy and vision, not just visual ideas, but determining what should be built and why.
  • Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas for digital tools, and map user journeys.
  • Develop new concepts, storyboards, detailed interaction designs, screen flows, wireframes, and prototypes to clearly articulate solutions.
  • Create distinctive digital experiences.
  • Collaborate as part of an agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions.
  • Execute product design for a range of applications that are responsive across form factors (e.g., web, mobile, tablet) and platforms (e.g., iOS, Android).
  • Track user experience metrics and report on the success of UX improvements, including analytics.
