About Us:

Utah Association of Community Services (UACS) is a leading advocacy organization comprised of disability service providers throughout Utah that is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. UACS provides critical support and expertise to our member providers, while advocating for regulatory improvements and needed funding from state and federal government oversight agencies. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our association in fulfilling its mission and shaping the future of disability services.


Job Summary:

As the Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the interests of our member organizations and the individuals they serve. This multifaceted position requires a results-driven leader with a strong commitment to people with disabilities, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in advocacy, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

Advocacy and Government Relations:

- Interface with state and federal government agencies to influence policies and regulations affecting the disability service sector.

- Monitor and track trends, changes, and legislative developments impacting our members.

- Collaborate with lobbyists to develop and refine ongoing strategies to advocate for our association's regulatory and fiscal needs at the Utah legislative level.


Membership Engagement and Support:

- Inspire and engage existing members, serving as the face of the association.

- Address challenges and problems faced by members, taking proactive steps for resolution.

- Establish and maintain a parent group to provide support and guidance to families of individuals with disabilities.

- Recruit new providers to build UACS membership and expand its reach and impact.


Program Development and Improvement:

- Oversee and enhance training programs for our members to improve service quality.

- Lead the development of new provider training initiatives.

- Drive systems reform initiatives to enhance the quality of services provided to individuals with disabilities.


Communication and Public Relations:

- Plan and execute all external communication campaigns, including the website, marketing materials, newsletters, and social media content.

- Respond to media inquiries and act as the association's spokesperson.

- Enhance the reputation and brand of the Utah Association of Community Services.


Leadership and Organizational Management:

- Coordinate board, committee, and general meetings to ensure effective governance.

- Lead and execute strategic planning to achieve long-term organizational goals.

- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive information.

Other Responsibilities:

- Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional duties as needed to support the association's success.

- Collaborate effectively with team members with diverse personalities and backgrounds.


Qualifications:

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

- Expertise in Medicaid and a deep understanding of state rules and regulations.

- Excellent research skills and the ability to stay updated on industry trends.

- A master's degree in a related field.

- Experience providing Home and Community Based Services.

- Passionate about advocating for and serving people with disabilities.

- Financial acumen and budget management experience.

- Proficiency in technology and relevant software applications.

- Strong organizational, time management, and strategic planning skills.

- Proven leadership skills, including innovation and crisis management.

- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with a focus on accountability.

- Deadline orientation and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

- Strong public relations skills and the ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders.
