Ivarson inc. specializes in the production and service of custom dairy packaging and processing equipment. Our in-house machine shop provides production needs for our new machine builds and machine rebuilds. We also supply replacement components for field service repairs and customer orders.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret Blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and a variety of different materials to turn parts in a short run close tolerance (.0005 ) job shop environment.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, depth of cut, angle of cut, and tool pressure to ensure tolerance and finish requirements.
- Verify conformance of finished work piece to specification using proper measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gage blocks, gage pins, height gages, depth gages, and bore gages.
- Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks to ensure machine and work area are kept clean and in good working condition.
- Work with machine shop manager weekly on the status of workflow to ensure schedule is being met.
