Bookkeeper


Job Details

We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate must be proficient with online QuickBooks, possess excellent organization skills, demonstrate effective communication skills, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. While you will work closely with our finance team, your primary role will be managing the financial books of our organization, including receivables, payables, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.


Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize online QuickBooks to manage and oversee all general accounting tasks, including but not limited to chart of accounts, general ledger, and financial report generation.
  2. Record financial transactions, update financial data and ensure that all information is entered accurately into the QuickBooks system.
  3. Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  4. Assist in preparing budgets and financial projections and conducting variance analysis.
  5. Process payroll for employees on a timely basis, including proper allocation to various grants and programs.
  6. Prepare monthly or quarterly financial statements and other financial reports to help management understand the financial position of the organization.
  7. Accurately calculate and submit all necessary tax forms.
  8. Liaise with external auditors to ensure annual audits are carried out smoothly.
  9. Work closely with the financial director to update financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
  10. Train and support staff on use of QuickBooks and other financial procedures.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. 2-3 years' experience in bookkeeping, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  3. Proficiency in using online QuickBooks.
  4. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  5. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  6. Strong expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Physical Demands:

While performing regular office duties for this position, the employee will regularly be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods, use a computer for extended periods, and may occasionally lift office-related items up to 20 lbs.


Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position which will primarily be based within an office environment. Occasional remote work may be necessary.
