SITUATION OVERVIEW:

Life Science Advisory and Investment Banking Firm is currently seeking a driven, ambitious, and experienced Managing Director candidate who would enjoy an entrepreneurial work environment and share their culture of success and work ethic. This firm provides innovative companies with a value-added, market-aligned approach to mergers & acquisitions, partnering, and corporate finance.


POSITION:

The Managing Director must have expertise in managing transactions related to the life sciences industry, which encompasses fields such as biotechnology, medical technology (MedTech), diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and other healthcare verticals. The Managing Director will be at the core of each of their transactions, playing a critical role in the entire transaction process by generating new mandates, managing existing client engagements, managing M&A processes, and implementing negotiation strategies to closing the deal. The candidate should possess strong business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to work as part of an entrepreneurial team, leveraging and creating relationships with the back office. The Managing Director should contribute to the firm's deal-flow and the creation of their own individual pipeline within the firm.


The Managing Director position has the opportunity to join a fast-growing organization, while leveraging past investment banking experience to enhance our client s M&A origination and execution capabilities and contribute to building a successful advisory practice.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Actively pursue business development opportunities and market the firm s M&A expertise (sell-side and buy-side) to prospective clients;

Create and manage new deal flow and originate new client engagements that fit the strategy of the firm;

Lead on a variety of transactions including client sourcing, initial pitch, M&A process, valuation analyses, due diligence, negotiations, and transaction closing;

Communicate industry, regulatory, financial information, and complex strategic issues in a clear, concise, and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers in corporate finance transactions;

Oversee preparation and delivery of presentations;

Develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders, intermediaries, and Private Equity firms to identify new opportunities for advisory assignments;

Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies;

Participate in key industry conferences, speaking opportunities, media interviews, and marketing efforts to generate exposure and promote the firm;

Review and study regulatory changes including reimbursement trends and advise clients on potential impact;

Monitor market conditions, liaising with doctors, scientists, and key opinion leaders.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Five to ten years of experience at investment banks with demonstrable experience in M&A execution and origination;

Expertise in managing transactions related to the life sciences industry, which encompasses fields such as biotechnology, medical technology (MedTech), and diagnostics;

Previous success and proven track record in new business development and closing investment banking transactions;

Deep understanding of the capital marketplace, including deal multiples, pricing, structure, potential financing sources, and buyers;

Strong execution skills and understanding of M&A advisory services and the M&A process, compiling marketing materials, creating buyer/seller strategies, deal structuring and negotiation;

Knowledge of the accounting, taxation, regulatory and legal matters involved in the execution of public and private company M&A transactions;

Highly proficient in financial statement analysis and financial modeling;

Strong leadership and relationship building skills, outstanding communication, and presentation skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, confident, organized, and articulate manner;

Results oriented, and focused on producing a high-quality product with extraordinary attention to detail on client deliverables;

Must be comfortable and persistent in the pursuit of potential business;

Effective at marketing transactions to private equity and strategic buyers (ideal candidate also has strong existing relationships with such parties);

Willingness to travel;

Public speaking ease and experience;

Self-driven with ability to work independently;

Positive and takes initiative ;

Strong work ethic;

Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, or an MBA;

Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;

Team player with the capacity to integrate into a highly collaborative and horizontal environment;

The FINRA Series 7 and/or 79 and 63 will be required.
