Position Overview: As a Civil Engineer specializing in Utility Infrastructure, you will play a crucial role in our team dedicated to the planning, design, and construction of utility projects. Reporting to the Civil Engineering Manager, you will lead projects focused on the development and maintenance of utility infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of essential services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in civil engineering and utility design while contributing to the improvement of community infrastructure.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of utility infrastructure projects, including water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and hydraulic analyses to evaluate project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents for utility projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and permitting requirements.
  • Utilize PLS-CADD software for the design and analysis of overhead utility structures, ensuring structural integrity and reliability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and stakeholders, to coordinate project activities and achieve project objectives.
  • Perform site grading, drainage design, and erosion control measures to optimize the performance and resilience of utility infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support during construction, inspection, and commissioning phases, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct field surveys, inspections, and assessments of existing utility systems, identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in utility engineering, and apply this knowledge to enhance project delivery and innovation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and professional development within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on utility infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD software for utility structure design and analysis is essential.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including site development, grading, and drainage design.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and GIS platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to utility infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in engineering practices.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites, client meetings, and industry events as required.
