**Procurement Director, Innovation Buyer**
**Location:** Hazlet, New Jersey, US, 07730 ****Job Description****
An Innovation & Technology Lead is available at one of the worlds best fragrance and flavor companies. This New Jersey based position is one that offers a collaborative work environment and a chance to support R&D in meeting their technology and innovation objectives. You will be the business partner for the R&D technology scouts to ensure favorable IFF terms, liaise with the IFF buying teams to leverage supplier capabilities, assests and expertise, and support bridging R&D gaps with market capabilities.
**You will spend your time**
* Establishing procurement protocol of technology project/partner engagement that is aligned with IFF procurement policy and sourcing best practices for key R&D technology/innovation products.
* Developing the commercial framework to optimize value creation
* Developing negotiation strategy with the team and leading negotiation/deal making
* Providing governance and oversight to ensure procurement policies/procedures and sustainability requirements from existing suppliers is implemented
* Working closely with R&D partners to establish a project management framework for external collaboration projects per PMO practices/as applicable to R&D projects
* Developing technology project pipeline and establishing project deliverables and timeline
* Developing and measuring KPIs to gauge project effectiveness and build on learnings
* Liaising with Global Procurement buying teams to develop and evolve a repository of supplier capabilities, focusing on R&D needs
* Interfacing with Global Procurement to simplify R&D project execution and transitioning from concept to commercialization. Supporting Creative & Application team when transitioning into commercial/development stage.
* Facilitating external partner presentations to R&D and IFF management
* Providing market intelligence and benchmarking data to R&D to keep R&D project portfolio relevant
* Supporting the EVP of R&D in implementing R&D strategy and be an effective member of R&D steering committee.
****Job Requirements****
**Required Experience**
* Bachelors degree in science, engineering, or other relevant field (preferably in Chemistry)
* Sourcing professional with 10+ years of work experience in science or engineering
* 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience; R&D technology buying experience
* 3+ years of technology buying experience
* Knowledge of Financial Analysis, legal framework, and business drivers
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to cross-functional teams
* Supply Chain or Procurement certification such as CPSM, ISM, or equivalent as well as PMP certification
**Preferred Experience:**
* Masters or Ph.D in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
* Master of Business Administration
