This position evaluates requests, troubleshoots problems, and provides requested information and/or routes issues to appropriate teammate. Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. This position reports to the Supervisor, Customer Support (Lab).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Responds professionally and knowledgably to inbound and outbound calls

* Monitors incoming call volume and respond accordingly

* Assists customers with laboratory processes and education

* Transmits test results from laboratory information system (LIS) to customer

* Consults with supervisor, manager or designee regarding questionable results when appropriate

* Follows established procedure for reporting critical results (alert values)

* Adhere to call documentation policy

* Utilize knowledge base to promote customer solutions 65%

2. Responsible for maintaining quality adherence

* Competency Testing programs

* Quality improvement programs

* Reports events or deviations from standard laboratory procedures to supervisor, manager or designee

3. Identifies, researches, and follows-up on issues and concerns with specimens and requisitions in partnership with various departments within the organization

* Identify repetitive calls and escalates to supervisor, manager or designee for investigation

4. Other duties as assigned

**Education & Experience**

* 0-2 years of related experience

* High school diploma required

* Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office required

* Customer service call center experience preferred
