**Environmental Health and Safety Manager**

The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that Service Centers are in compliance with all health and safety, transportation, environmental, quality, and company standards.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Be proficient in the requirements of the clients and ensure that those policies and programs are also be followed. This includes being a liaison with customer EHS personnel to insure a good working relationship.

* Serve as the EHS liaison with customers in order to help operations achieve the goals of both the company and the customers that we work for.

* Manage and develop the environmental, health and safety programs. Responsible for compliance with these programs &procedures within their service center/facility.

* Conduct safety audits to ensure that all safety practices, programs, record keeping/ permit procedures, monitoring and other related activities are being followed and performed to company and customer standards. If not, assist the worker to properly complete the required paperwork before allowing the job to continue and before leaving the jobsite. At a minimum EHS Managers should be completing 2-3 audits per week.

* Assist field crews as needed to ensure that work performed is completed in a safe and compliant manner.

* Ensure workers have access to and are using proper PPE for identified hazards. Carry a supply of routine PPE, various blank forms and other necessary items in your vehicle

* Write site-specific health & safety plans as needed by the service centers. This may also include performing job site walks with Operations as necessary.

* Investigate incidents and accidents and prepare a written report and make recommendations for corrective actions. Additionally participate/ lead IRT meetings as necessary.

* Assist in managed care of injuries

* Maintain and inspect safety equipment as needed (confined space equipment, SCBA units, fall protection equipment, etc.)

* Develop a safety meeting program within the service center/ facility. This includes working with Managers to conduct safety meetings (minimum- monthly), safety stand-downs as needed and a Safety Committee in order to build/ increase field personnel involvement and communication.

* Maintain and manage the BBS/ Good Catch/ Near Miss Program including follow up on needed corrective actions and trend analysis.

* Maintain and monitor training records and physicals in conjunction with the Service Center Managers. Ensure that service centers are keeping employees current and are in compliance.

* Maintain Housekeeping Program including completion of housekeeping audits based on required frequency.

* Train field employees on Environmental, Health & Safety and related technical matters. Conduct various training programs as needed (may include but not limited to: EHS New Hire Orientation, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 8 Hour Annual Refresher, Confined Space, 10 Hour OSHA-Construction and topic specific modules)

* Work closely and cooperatively with Managers and Supervisors to accomplish shared goals. Develop a positive working relationship with both internal and external customers.

* Manage Field Safety personnel (if applicable)

* Develop and maintain expertise on health & safety regulations. Serve as a regulatory resource throughout the company.

* Performance of other duties and responsibilities as required by management.

**Qualifications**

* 3-4 years Health & Safety/ Construction experience preferred

* Bachelor of Science required in the field of (environmental science, public health, safety or industrial hygiene).

* At least 3-5 years in an environmental, health and safety role. Demonstrated broad knowledge of EHS regulations in a technical field such as environmental science, public health, safety or industrial hygiene.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks with minimum supervision and complete projects and daily duties in a timely manner.

* Strong computer skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database software, etc.

* Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

* Personal vehicle travel may be required mainly between ACV facilities and job sites as needed.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to develop and work within a team environment

* Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and other regulations as apply to the industrial services business segment

To perform the duties of this job, the employee must have good interpersonal skills; be patient and tactful; display an enthusiastic, cooperative and friendly attitude at all times with managers/supervisors, co-workers, visitors, customers and clients. Must be able to maintain high business ethics internally and externally. Ability to communicate effectively with all employees, as well as corporate staff and executive management.

**Physical Demands**

To perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel the phone console and use of a PC; ability to talk and hear; reaches with hands and arms with use of a step stool; occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for movement of boxes, supplies or computers.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

**Work Environment**

This position is exposed to maintenance areas subject to OSHA which include safety precautions.
