Rehabilitation Service Technicians (RSTs) provide care and support in home and apartment settings to Resilire Neuro clients who have sustained traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. RSTs play a critical role in the rehabilitation process, empowering clients to attain the highest levels of independence, self-esteem, and community inclusion possible, given the nature of their injury.
**KEY QUALIFICATIONS**
* Must be of good moral character treating clients with respect and dignity.
* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must have valid drivers license and meet criteria regarding driving record
* High school diploma preferred but not required. Must be able to read and write.
* Employment subject to successful completion of required training (provided) including CPR, First Aid, and other courses to be determined by Resilire Neuro, CARF and/or the Michigan Department of Human Services.
* Must agree to maintain client confidentiality, rights, and privacy and follow all requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
**DESCRIPTION**
As a direct care team member you will play an important role in the rehabilitation process by assisting clients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing, care of skin, teeth, hair, ears, nails, eating, toileting/elimination, and promoting self-care activities. RSTs are essential in helping encourage clients independence in basic and advanced activities of daily living in accordance with their treatment plans. As a key member of the treatment team you can truly have an impact on client recovery through your care, encouragement, and support. Work is generally within the residential home or apartment setting although various other work sites may be assigned. Travel off Resilire Neuro grounds may be required for community-based activities.

The Direct Care team member, sometimes called a Rehabilitation Service Technician (RST), is supervised by the Residential Program Manager (RPM) of the Residence or Apartment facility. This role functions under the direction and delegation of the Rehabilitation Team.
**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
* Behave in accordance with the Mission and Values of Resilire Neuro.
* Assume personal and team responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner to assure safety for oneself and for clients and co-workers.
* Capable of physically assisting in care of clients, including lifting for purposes of transfers, dressing, transporting, and crisis prevention intervention.
