**Central Supply Receiving Clerk, Central Services - Full Time/Days**

Purpose Statement / Position Summary
Under general supervision performs the controlled receipt, accurate documentation, secured storage,
and efficient distribution of all goods and equipment purchased by the medical center. This position
requires the full understanding, support, and active participation, in fulfilling the mission, strategic
plan, and goals of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate
behavior consistent with the core values.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
1. Work in a fast paced environment.
2. Utilize integrated computer information system.
3. Safely move products from receiving area to departments using various equipment including but
not limited to forklift, pallet- jack, and other supply carts.
4. To maintain accurate records, reports and files per policy
5. Preparation of outgoing shipments.
6. Ability to resolve receiving discrepancies
7. Appropriately communicate with customers, buyers, and all levels of management, in problem
solving.

Essential Job Outcomes
1. Inspects for damage and accepts or refuses the receipt of all incoming merchandise, supplier
and equipment.
2. Investigates and resolves receiving discrepancies.
3. Processes all receipts and paperwork per current policies and procedures including but not
limited to, Purchasing and Accounting guidelines, and includes paperwork processing of
freight bills, packing slips, and discrepancy documentation.
4. Prepares accurate records of all pending and completed receiving transactions including
damages, partial shipments, vendor returns, and equipment shipped for repair.
5. Utilizes and maintains receipts in computerized purchase order files. Purges and files
paperwork per procedure. Reports outstanding issues to Purchasing.
6. Prepares items for delivery by identifying requesting department and attaching necessary
documentation as defined in current policies.
7. Deliveries supplies and equipment utilizing pallet jack, hand truck and flat beds. Delivers to
offsite locations as needed.
8. Secures and expedites delivery of high-risk items, rush shipments, and perishable products
requiring refrigeration.
9. Coordinate and schedules in-house moves and the pickup of items for return, repair or
disposal.
10. Other duties as assigned
Experience
1). Two or more years experience in receiving and shipping, working with an integrated computerized
inventory system. .
2). Knowledge of receiving and shipping documentation and processes.
3). basic material handling techniques,
4). maintaining hard copy and computer inventory records per policy
Education
List the education licensures or certifications preferred or required to do the job.
1). High School diploma or equivalency.
2). Ability to read and write English
3). Good communication skills
