Summary of Position:

This position is an operational accounting position to help with monthly close procedures, as well as Ad Hoc requests throughout the organization. The primary areas of focus for monthly close process as well as analysis are Capex, LOE, Inventory, Work in progress ("WIP") and Furniture Fixtures and Equipment ("FF&E"). The role will need to have excellent Excel skills and the ability to work with and communicate effectively with many different departments and personnel.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

* Monitor financial transactions related to oil and gas capital and expenses, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

* Preparation of monthly accounting entries, including Capex, LOE, WIP, Inventory, and FF&E.

* Perform monthly account reconciliations for accounts assigned and ensure proper presentation of account balance.

* Collaborate with other departments such as operations engineering, land, and marketing to ensure financial data is accurately reflected in the company's systems.

* Analysis of Capex, LOE, Inventory, WIP, and FF&E spending.

* Ad Hoc requests throughout company as it relates to accounting information.

* Develop, implement, and conduct projects and analysis, as assigned, to ensure that proper and cost-effective controls are included in systems and processes.

* Other operational accounting duties as needed for monthly close.

* Help complete monthly analyses by comparing actual vs. budget/forecasted balances and research accounting transactions to confirm accuracy, validity, and understanding of financial activity.

* Help in identifying training needs and assist in ongoing coaching and development opportunities for team members to improve their accounting and industry knowledge.

* Assist upper management in resolving complex accounting issues or challenges that arise in upstream operations.

* Perform all activities and responsibilities related to inventory management and tracking.

* Identify, execute and document process improvements related to main areas of focus to ensure efficient and effective desk procedures.

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or Finance, or an equivalent required.

* Minimum of 7 years' experience in accounting, closing, reporting, and hands-on accounting systems.

* Minimum of 5 years' experience in oil and gas; upstream preferred.

* Proficient in Microsoft 360 products (Outlook, Excel, Word) required with advanced skills in Excel in particular.

* Experience with Power BI preferred.

* Certified Public Accountant license or relevant professional certification preferred.

* BOLO, Excalibur, or other P2 system experience preferred.

Travel Requirements:

* Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

* Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.

Base Pay Range: $111,600 - $118,000
