SUMMARY

< Order Entry >

  • Review the orders on the PO Allocation Screen in AS400. Place the orders to appropriate manufacturing location.
  • Place purchase orders to outside vendors for linear motion related products. This involves identifying products with catalogs and pricing them accordingly. Make price quotations.

< Quotation >
  • To meet customers needs, support outside sales team by making price quotations and determining the manufacturing location.
  • Communicate with THK Japan and process the tasks in a timely manner.
  • Get involved in the administrative work necessary to process the workflow of 1 Property = 1 Product Code = 1 Drawing/ 1 Approval Drawing = 1 Price


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

< Order Entry >
  • Efficiently allocate purchase orders for linear motion products while considering all variables.
  • Review the Daily Purchase Order Report Lists for TMA, Japan, Chicago cut shop, and other locations.
  • Generate and distribute daily reports at specific intervals.
  • Answer questions and offer assistance to the Order Management, SAR, DCA, and production staff.
  • Research and respond to the stock inquiries from the SARs.
  • Respond to the Japan stock inquiries by researching Japan AS400.
  • Review the confirmations received from vendors.
  • When necessary, send requests of expediting custom orders to TMA, THK Japan, and other vendors.
  • Communicate with TMA regarding modification costs.
  • Change pricing and firm the repair/correction/research orders to TMA.


< Quotation >
  • Provide price quotations to the sales branch offices.

Calculate and determine the quote price by coordinating multiple data from internal sources; THK America

internal, THK Japan, TMA, and others.

Check the PO data entered, allocates them to Japan, TMA, Chicago cut shop, etc. In some cases, puts them on

hold or enter $ amount in AS400.

Request investigation when there was a discrepancy between the FOB.

Run investigations on price discrepancies (List Price, FOB, product master in AS400)

Place orders to THK plants and outside vendors.
  • Calculate product price.
  • Check product properties.
  • Read product drawings.


  • Contact branch offices, THK Japan, TMA, and TMI when issues arise concerning cost, leadtime, and products.
  • Contact other department in THK America when issues arise concerning cost, leadtime, and products.
  • Ask THK HQ Sales Support General Manager for directions.
  • Determine if Order Management can calculate the cost. If it can, calculate the cost. If not, ask for a quotation from a proper vendor (THK Japan, TMA, etc.)
  • Act as an intermediary between the sales and the manufacturing. Investigate the discrepancies between the two sides and resolve the issues concerning the leadtime and the cost.
  • Provide quotations using AS400 and other tools in PC. Support the business operation (activities) of THK sales department.
  • As the needs arise, place orders to manufacturing plants by selecting the appropriate purchase price and setting up a PO Due Date, based on the order information received from each branch office.
  • As the needs arise, get involved in making production plan and stock plan, based on the usage forecast, and make adjustment.
  • Other responsible routine duties and assigned duties from the managers.


< Others >
  • Back up the other employees in Order Management Dept when they are overwhelmed, unavailable, or absent.
  • Provide the Order Management Manager assistance with various duties.
  • Follow all procedures required by JSOX and ISO.
  • Mandatory overtime during physical inventory includes counting products, keying inventory totals and proofreading final totals.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Keyboard proficient

Ability to work well under pressure

THK product knowledge, AS400 knowledge, and Excel knowledge is helpful

EDUCATION/FIELD

High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE/FIELD

2-3 years of customer service or sales office experience is helpful. Manufacturing background is helpful.

Speak English fluently

Write correspondence legibly and intelligently

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
