Job description

Position: Community Fundraising Associate

Reports to: Executive Director

Summary:

The person in this role will be in charge of fundraising and creating strategic relationships with donors/sponsors and local media as well as representing the organization in the community. The ability to multitask with several project details at once is essential. The person in this role will be in regular contact with members of the local media and business community to publicize the purpose of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Public Relations

  • Create press releases, brochures, social media and email campaigns.
  • Attend community events to further our mission and impact on the community.

Research

  • Collect data and information to locate and target potential donors/sponsors, events and venues that may be useful to the organization.

Administrative

  • Project management
  • Event Coordination
  • Supervise staff and office work

Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written skills essential to inform /persuade donors, local media and the community at large of the organization's purpose.
  • Communicate goals to director and coworkers.
  • Seek advantageous partnerships with corporations, vendors, and individuals.
  • Develop and maintain guidelines for participation and partnership with constituents in the community for outreach and fundraising opportunities

Project Management

  • Maintain outreach calendar
  • Secure and schedule volunteers, vendors, locations and events.

Administrative Skills

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Canva, social media sites, etc. to promote the organization.
  • Maintain budgets, calendars and contacts.
