Job Function

Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will be based out of our New Johnsonville, TN sit and will be responsible for directing and coordinating all manufacturing activities in compliance with required output and quality standards. The Production Manager will participate in the overall direction of manufacturing processes and related specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the training of employees, setting of departmental production and performance goals, organization of work, and maintenance of a productive and motivational climate
  • Oversee and participate in the development of performance, efficiency, and product quality standards for the plant's chemical circuits.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and technical support personnel regarding the coordination of plant standards with overall company objectives.
  • Manage production campaigns and inventory levels to optimize labor and equipment efficiencies.
  • Submit timely reports, as required, to the appropriate personnel.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the appropriate levels of labor, the general conformance with employee rules, the issue of warnings, and the administration of disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Ensure, through the supervisors and operators, the safe and environmentally sound operation of all production processes at New Johnsonville Operations.
  • Develop and support the strategic business unit strategies for New Johnsonville Operations.
  • Liaison between New Johnsonville Operations and external organizations, (i.e., customer and civic affiliations.)
  • Establish operating budgets and forecasts, reflecting current and future short-run production capabilities.
  • Mentor professional growth and development of employees in the Production Department.
  • Coordinate production scale R&D trials.
  • Serve as a senior member of the plant staff in the development and implementation of plant policies and procedures.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises circuit SOPs as necessary through the use of the Qualtrax system


Required Experience
  • BA/BS degree required. Chemical engineering degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the chemical manufacturing space.
  • Lean six sigma is a plus
