Job Details
I. Primary Function: The Superintendent-Asphalt directs activities of union and non-union workers engaged with asphalt lay down in construction of highways, runways, site development infrastructure or other heavy highway construction projects.
II. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of asphalt lay down in the project

- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules on the basis of this review and communicates adjustments to the project manager.
- Ensures all work progresses at a pace that maintains the schedule and owner milestones
- work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
III. Additional Responsibilities:
- and submit all project daily trucking logs and material summary tickets on a daily basis

V. Mandatory Physical Requirements
- be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- be able to stand up to 12 hours per day with breaks.

- be able to walk on uneven terrain frequently on job sites.
- be able to drive a vehicle long distances frequently.
VI. Preferred Skills/ Knowledge:
- MS Project, P6, Viewpoint and HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job
VII. Education Level / Required Certification:
- Minimum 3 years asphalt paving experience; prior experience as asphalt paving foreman
VIII. Problem Solving: Must be able to resolve scheduling conflicts; work effectively with all levels of field personnel in order to successfully complete the project on time and on budget
