Inventory/Accounting Control Specialist

Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Specialist maintains and promotes accuracy of retail store inventory by conducting inventory audits, working and reviewing various inventory reports, and communicating results with management.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains inventory accuracy by executing prescriptive inventory audits at each store.
  • Communicates opportunities/ issues/ discrepancies with store management.
  • Manage the monthly inventory schedule in conjunction with our third-party audit partner.
  • Close inventory during the month-end close process (in office).
  • Provide reporting comparing store audit performance versus key performance indicators.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Four-year college degree required (accounting or finance preferred)
  • Basic understanding of accounting functions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft and PDI systems.


Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. Roughly 80% of the work week will consist of driving to individual stores and performing inventory audits. The remaining 20% of the work week will be in the corporate office.


Position Type/ Expected Hours of work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. The workweek consists of 40 hours.


Travel: No additional travel is expected outside of the normal course of primary responsibilities.
