At AssuredPartners, our Rockville, MD office is growing! We are hiring for an Account Manager with our Employee Benefits division to manage our Small Business Account book of business. Your main responsibility is to provide proactive and reactive service to clients within your assigned book of business and support the sales producer. As an Account Manager, you will be the primary day-to-day contact responsible for providing high-level customer support to clients by cultivating client relationships as well as working in tandem with the sales producer during the renewal process in support of those clients.


You will work closely with vendor partners and with the internal Assured Partners Client Management Team to ensure that the employee benefits programs of those assigned clients are actively managed across all areas of compliance, employee communications, and administration.

What You'll Do:


  • Maintains accurate client information in the agency management system to provide day-to-day client support and address all levels of client inquiries.
  • Assists in the development of strong business relationships with appropriate insurance carrier personnel.
  • Conducts quarterly service status calls to key clients within the assigned book of business.
  • Assists in the completion of renewal presentation spreadsheets carrier changes, process carrier renewals, and prepare open enrollment communications for employees.
  • Oversees the installation & implementation of the client s renewal. Able to calculate payroll deductions and assist with or conduct Open Enrollment meetings as needed. Finalizes the renewal decisions/enrollment with the carrier(s).
  • Handles all aspects of renewal submissions, inclusive of medical, ancillary, Cobra, FSA, HRA, and HSA renewals.
  • Manages/updates claims reporting when required.
  • Assists clients with compliance services SPD Wraps, Section 125 Plans, ACA Reporting.
  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of the Agency Management System.
  • Onboarding of new clients
  • Participation in Account Manager meetings.
  • Leverages technical knowledge to ensure carrier quotes are received in a timely fashion; Reviews quotes for gaps and assists with inquiries from the carrier.
  • Updates open issues in the Agency Management System in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned.


What You'll Need:


  • 1-2 years of related Employee Benefits, Client Management, or HR experience preferred
  • Life and Health License preferred
  • Working knowledge of available employee benefits coverages based on business and industry
  • Proficient in providing client service through electronic, telephone, and in-person interaction
  • Problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Agency Management software or demonstrated skill at quickly learning new systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with self-funded benefit plans is a plus, although not required
