Herman Miller Retail is looking for a Retail Procurement Specialist to join the Retail Operations Team. The position will be responsible for leading and managing the Procurement process, projects and deliverables for Herman Miller, Design within Reach and HAY Retail brands.

This role will be primarily responsible for management of all Retail procurement initiatives and internal cross functional materials acquisition and distribution. The role will coordinate retail sales, operations and merchandising supplies and collateral for distribution to international retail facilities and teams.

This role will work with Retail Operations, Merchandising, Marketing and Sales teams to align material needs with projects, business goals and solutions to drive effectiveness and cost control. This role will develop and manage internal procurement processes coordinating large-scale initiatives and projects involving international retail brands.

They will be the central point of contact for materials, supplies, vendor management and coordination, ensuring all needs are met by working closely with cross functional partners.

Responsible for ensuring all Procurement budgets and needs within a project are met, and that all needs are aligned by providing timely and accurate distribution of materials and supplies in order to achieve successful executions. The ability to work independently while adjusting and adapting to management styles and techniques for the uniqueness of each project is essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Purchase goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the retail brand organizations.

Manage procurement of materials and supplies for all retail brands.

Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors for cost control and optimization.

Anticipate needs and track inventory to restock materials, goods and supplies to ensure efficiency.

Work with a vast array of materials needed to support all studios, stores and retail brands.

Compare internally produced materials and available goods with industry trends to anticipate and determine appropriate needs for retail brands. Lead strategic sourcing to develop, negotiate and implement programs with vale of $5k to $5m.

Participate productively and constructively as a member of cross-functional teams as required, performing additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Take responsibility for relationship management with peers at internal and external suppliers.

Take responsibility for driving value and savings in all procurement projects and needs.

Support and coordinate with New Store Opening, Operations, Retail Leadership and Management teams to implement procurement process improvements.

Understand and apply project management principles to ensure needs of all cross functional partners are met.

Understand and interpret cost breakdowns of suppliers. Achieve agreement with suppliers that quality, quantity and cost requirements will be met.

Manage project execution milestones for Procurement initiatives from inception to completion.

Develop and manage orderly flow of samples and materials for the companys products.

Proactively and consistently conceive, define, and develop process improvements.

Create detailed Procurement road maps, plans, schedules and rollouts.

Ensure projects are routed for proper approval and all sign-offs are recorded.

Align with leadership team on project timelines and ensure goals are met, working to problem solve as necessary. Ensure that all projects are delivered complete and on time.

Anticipate and manage change effectively in rapidly evolving global business environments.

Regularly communicate and present project schedules, statuses, and updates to various team members ranging from junior to Executive level, always tailoring communication and bringing solutions/opportunities.

Ad hoc responsibilities as needed to support Operations and Retail Sales Management teams.

Support Training, New Store Opening, and all Retail Operations teams as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

5 years of Retail Procurement experience.

Internal Client first perspective for Procurement with a solid understanding of driving solutions.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, project management and organizational skills.

Proactive, results driven agile self-starter mindset.
