Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for an Outside Sales Representative to work out of our North Reading, MA location. This position achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account insight within a multi-state territory in the northeast. Identifies solid market segment by effectively selling the company s catalog and engineered pipe supports, as well our engineered designs and project management related to infrastructure projects. Will also be responsible for personally contacting and securing new business accounts and customers.

C&P specializes in the manufacture and distribution of a complete line of pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications since 1913. With five locations in the U.S and growing., our supports have been specified and installed on major water treatment, pharmaceutical, process piping, petro-chemical, hospitals, and school buildings as well as many other industrial projects throughout the world.

Essential Duties:
Establish, develop, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in order to generate new business for the organization s products and services
Respond to prospective customer inquiries and requests for quotations
Perform business development calls, presentations, and related follow up
Consult with builders on industrial building projects to ensure ideal placement of product
Identify new business opportunities within distribution, end user targets, and large industrial projects
Train end users on C&P s products and services
Support existing product lines by fielding technical questions from customers
Direct customer interface - daily as well as one to two nights a week overnight travel is required
Become technically proficient in customers applications as well as gain knowledge of new uses for existing products
Participates in trade shows and conventions
Other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate:
Sales experience in pipe hangers, engineered pipe supports, industrial construction, wastewater projects, or other relative construction is a plus
A commitment to our culture of teamwork and collaboration is essential
Must have a valid driver s license and a good driving record
Good organizational skills and the ability to demonstrate solid sales strategy system
Above average verbal and written communication.
