Job Summary

SKYCTC Upward Bound Math & Science program is seeking part-time, temporary Tutor Counselor for its Summer Academy program June 2 - July 12.

Job Duties:

Tutor Counselor will assist professional staff during the six-week academic program by serving as a mentor, providing tutoring, leading group discussions, presentations, and inspiring them to aspire to pursue higher education. Tutor Counselor will travel with the program during day-camp, residential and cultural weeks, assist with transporting students to and from activities and day-camp and responsible for the safety and security of students during the Summer Academy.

Essential duties and responsibilities of the include the following:
Supervise students during classes and activities (virtual and in-person).
Ability to live in and supervise students in residence hall during residential and cultural week.
Assist students with tutoring in assigned subject areas and monitor study hall.
Plan and implement program activities, discussions, and presentations.
Perform assigned daily duties.
Assist professional staff when needed.
Attend Tutor Counselor meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in college. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Must have the ability to live on campus during residential week. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes both daytime and evening hours. Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Must be mature and have excellent professional judgement.
