This is a remote-field role with 85% travel expectations. Preferred candidates live in the Midwest to Upper Midwest region of the US. Other US locations will be considered.

Position Summary:

As a Cathodic Protection Technician, you will work with a safety-first team to manage assigned projects related to cathodic protection. Interfaces with customer and stakeholders to ensure all needs and expectations are met and/or exceeded.


Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Tech Supervisor on all issues related to project timeline, completion, etc.
  • Performs regular equipment and vehicle maintenance.
  • Interfaces with customers as appropriate and maintains a working relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Performs field projects such as annual cathodic protection surveys.
  • Responsible for performing cathodic protection work.
  • Troubleshoots cathodic protection systems and installs cathodic protection system components.
  • Compiles information and documentation for cathodic protection reporting.
  • Actively participates in JSA and uses all necessary steps to complete tasks safely and ensures the safety of others working in the area.
  • Communicates with all levels of management and crew to effectively present any needs and changes.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to adhere to a written method or procedure.
  • Confidence to STOP work immediately when a problem is identified.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Management Responsibilities:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications):

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree, preferred.
  • 2-3 years relevant experience.
  • Current Driver s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • NACE CP I or II, preferred.


Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must have excellent depth perception, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate all machines safely.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.


Other Considerations/Requirements:

  • Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • May be required to travel to field and/or office locations.
  • This position may require overtime/weekend/off-hours.
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time.
