Our client is a leading building material manufacturer. They are seeking Product Managers who understand the consumer goods markets. The Product Manager needs to to have strong analytical skills, P&L experience, data, pricing, and strong Excel and MS Office skills. They ability to talk and interact with a sales team is needed. Key activities include strategy development, value proposition, definition of customer-based product requirements, pricing strategy, product roadmap, competitive analysis, and direction of cross-functional teams. The Product Manager will work directly with Sales, Channel Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain to maximize growth and profitability.


Job Responsibilities

As Product Manager, you will be charged with profitably growing the consumer products category. This includes increasing the profitability of existing products and developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand the problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external champion for your product offering. The product manager's key role is both strategic and tactical.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage P/L for product line
  • Manage existing portfolio of products by fixing or rationalizing underperforming SKU s
  • Participates in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, and integration of products as well as the introduction of products to the market.
  • Analyze customer research, current market conditions, market trends and competitive
  • information to identify opportunities for launching new and existing products into both
  • new and existing channels.
  • Develop Product Plans for new products.
  • Prioritize development projects based on resource availability and overall value to the business.
  • Generate Business Case, including market size, growth rate, share potential, competitive strengths/weaknesses, and potential new unit forecasts and pricing strategy.
  • Develop Design Guides defining key customer requirements.
  • Manage cross-functional project teams comprised of Channel, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to execute new product development plans.
  • Generate new product roadmaps that align with Corporate Strategic Plan.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new and existing products and programs.

Education and Experience:
