Job Summary: The Controller s primary responsibility is to support the Vice President of Accounting in directing all the accounting functions for the company. The Controller will supervise the accounting teams and will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing general and operational accounting functions, GAAP compliance, and month-end/year-end close activities for financial reporting purposes. The company is an industry leader in the locums staffing space. We are experiencing enormous growth and are seeking a dynamic self-starter with a demonstrated history of leading the accounting processes, problem solving, and delivering solutions for this exciting role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and own month-end close process
  • Manage and review daily cash forecasting
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance and related commentary is
  • complete and accurate
  • Oversee operational accounting by ensuring physician payrolls, billings, collections, and payments are completed timely and accurately
  • Coordinate year-end external audits
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting and forecasting
  • Prepare reporting and facilitate presentations to senior leadership and ownership
  • Responsible for creating efficiencies, identifying issues, and delivering solutions


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • CPA with strong knowledge of current GAAP
  • Prior experience as a Controller preferably in a staffing company and/or professional services
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting (master s in accounting/MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in general accounting, financial reporting, and/or audit roles with experience in a $200M+ company (public accounting experience preferably in a Big 4 firm)
  • Excellent supervisory skills and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/CRM software (NetSuite and/or Salesforce a plus)
