Another growing Tampa Bay area client has engaged us to recruit a driven professional for a Vice President of Finance Role role.


**Please note - this is an "in office role". There is no relocation assistance available for this role. Only candidates in the Tampa Bay area, or those with imminent relocation plans will be considered.**


Because of expansive company growth, our client is seeking a VP Finance. Trusted by thousands of businesses across the US, our client is one of the most reputable and established marketing & advertising companies of its kind in our industry.


Reporting to the CEO, the VP Finance will be responsible for managing the accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and tax functions. The role will be highly visible within the executive team and require superior communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to lead an accounting & finance team for a dynamic and profitable organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain policies and procedures designed to keep books and records on an accrual basis, GAAP compliant and audit-ready
  • Manage working capital, ensuring the accuracy weekly cash requirement reports and overseeing the timely and appropriate handling of disbursements
  • Maintain high-quality design and operation of internal controls over all accounting processes, including but not limited to payroll, cash disbursements & receipts, record keeping, account reconciliation, collections and financial reporting
  • Participate in a full orientation training program by working in each accounting system & process to include (but not limited to) M/E close, A/P, A/R, Collections, Postage, Payroll, etc.
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements
  • Prepare annual budget and periodic forecasts of operating costs, review budgets/forecast proposals, challenge budget/forecast assumptions and prepare necessary documents.
  • Produce accurate detailed models, analyses and reporting of financial metrics, KPIs, and management dashboard information for use by senior leadership.
  • Forecast capital expenditures & special project needs and present those needs with comparative quotes, estimated financial impact and timelines.
  • Work with external auditors and tax preparers ensuring timely handling of data requests so that they can complete their work on time and efficiently
  • Maintain keen awareness of evolving business transactions & conditions and their impact on the financial statements
  • Ensure team is properly trained, cross trained and developed in the handling of their tasks
  • Research GAAP and applicable industry changes, assure compliance with ASC 606 and other revenue recognition standards, write implementation memos, and ensure timely implementation of new requirements as required
  • Optimize technology to increase automation and efficiency
  • Articulate results clearly to various levels of management and key stakeholders as needed


Experience & Credentials Required:

  • 10+ years of accounting experience with minimum 5+ years experience in a leadership position of an accounting team. Previous public accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Ability to evaluate and improve (where necessary) an internal control environment.
  • Ability and willingness to perform detail-oriented work when necessary
  • Experience collaborating and team building, with and without direct reporting lines
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Tech savvy prior experience streamlining & automating accounting functions using an ERP system (Acumatica a huge plus) along with other financial and technical applications.
  • Robust analytical skills and sound professional judgment
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to articulate problems while at the same time proposing workable solutions
