National Sales Manager


Job Details

We are seeking a National Sales Manager in the Northwestern Indiana area who will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and managing distributor relationships on a national scale. This position will lead a team of account managers, providing guidance, support, and strategic direction to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster positive relationships with dealers and internal stakeholders.


The qualified candidate must live or be willing to relocate to a location within commutable distance of the Northwestern, IN area. Travel expectations will vary, and at times may exceed 50%.


Responsibilities include:

  1. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of account managers to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  2. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market share and drive revenue growth.
  3. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key dealers, distributors, and channel partners.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales strategies and initiatives.
  5. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  6. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to the sales team to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  7. Monitor and track sales metrics and KPIs to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote products/services and build brand awareness.
  9. Stay abreast of industry developments, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
  10. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.



Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably within equipment sales.
  3. Experience going to market through distribution channels, municipal, and direct.
  4. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a leadership capacity.
  5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  7. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  8. Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Willingness to travel nationally as needed.
  10. Experience in managing dealer relationships and channel sales is highly desirable.
  11. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
