FunWithBots has been delivering our highly regarded robotics and technology programs since 2006 in home school co-ops, public and private after school enrichment clubs, community based programs, and school break day camps.

Job Summary:

This is a contract role for an Adjunct Instructor at FunWithBots located in the Greater Tampa Bay Area, Florida.


FunWithBots is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Adjunct Instructor to join our team. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of our classes and workshops, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. If you have a passion for working with children and possess strong classroom management, leadership and communication skills, we encourage you to apply. This job will require the chosen applicant to drive to and from schools with materials and equipment. Access to a reliable vehicle for transportation of materials and driver's license is required.


Duties:

  • Discuss lesson plans and new ideas/challenges with team leader
  • Deliver lesson plans to students 4-18 years old; differentiating instruction for ability
  • Preparation of materials and rooms before the start of a class/workshop
  • Clean-up of rooms and sorting LEGO sets after the end of a class/workshop
  • Supervise and maintain electronic equipment
  • Supervise and maintain school/venue furniture and equipment
  • Inspire children to engage in activities and collaborate with others to iterate designs
  • Support SEL (Social Emotional Learning) development of students
  • Communicate parent concerns and deliver timely lesson summaries to Lead Instructor
  • Engage successfully in ongoing training and development
  • Adhere to all FunWithBots and partner schools/venues policies and procedures
  • Work alongside other professionals, such as partner-schools' safeguarding leads
  • Foster a developmentally appropriate, inclusive, safe, nurturing environment for all
  • Build professional, trusted relationships with staff, students and parents/guardians
  • Model appropriate behavior by following the FunWithBots Code of Conduct

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Strong Classroom Management skills
  • Teaching experience or studying related course
  • 18+. Willing and able to take and pass a level 2 background check
  • Passionate about science, engineering, robots, LEGO, and technology
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Model appropriate behavior by following the FunWithBots Code of Conduct
  • Familiarity with LEGO building instructions (maps)
  • Familiarity with computer usage, including pairing devices with bluetooth
  • Access to reliable transportation with ability to transport materials to and from venues
  • Upbeat and positive outlook
  • Receives feedback for continuous improvement constructively
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Candidates:

  • Engineering experience
  • Programming experience
  • Teaching/Mentoring/tutoring experience

Job Types: Seasonal or Year round. Part-time or Full Time. Per venue contract.

Education:

  • High school diploma
  • Course study or degree in a field working with children (preferred)

Experience:

  • Teaching/Mentoring/Tutoring: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

  • Valid Driver's License (required)
  • Favorable Level 2 Background Check (completed during onboarding)
  • Safe Environment Program certificate (completed during onboarding)

Work Location: On the road, multiple venues. This role is an on-site position.
