Position Type: Full time, exempt (not eligible to receive overtime pay)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Location: UPA Office, Washington, DC

Reports to: Executive Director


Position Summary


UPA is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual interested in a career in non-profit operations management.


The Operations Manager (OM) acts to support the Executive Director in all aspects of UPA s business, nationally and internationally, as assigned. This includes but is not limited to:

1. External functions related to UPA s operations such as public relations, donor relations, other external business relations, reporting, and compliance.

2. Internal functions including but not limited to strategic planning, board and advisory council relations, business process management, HR, organization-wide compliance, and acting as the point of contact for UPA s US-based venders and service providers.


Key Responsibilities


Business Process Management


The OM coordinates across all departments, developing and managing UPA s quality and operations manuals, and leading initiatives to re-engineer business processes to address operational challenges when needed.


Human Resources


The OM oversees and manages all HR functions in the HQ office, including recruitment and onboarding, serves as the point of contact for all internal policy questions, and manages employee benefits.


Compliance


The OM manages UPA s compliance with all charity assessment organizations, regulatory compliance requirements, the reporting process for third party assessments, and adherence to local and government regulations. Additionally, the OM oversees organization-wide compliance with UPA policies and standard operating procedures.


IT


The OM coordinates with the IT service provider to administer access to UPA s filesharing system, drives the reorganization of the filesharing system, and manages user access to UPA accounts.


Qualifications


1. Education: Bachelor s degree in business administration, management, or a related field.

2. At least 5 years of employment experience in management, administration, or business process management.

3. Superior English speaking, writing, and editorial skills.

4. High proficiency in Microsoft office and computer literacy.

5. Positive professional attitude, self-motivated, and energetic.

6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

7. Meticulous attention to detail, thoroughness, and experience with data entry required.

8. Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and phone and email etiquette.

9. Knowledge of and interest in the Middle East, specifically Palestinian issues, would be viewed favorably.

10. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
