Environmental Technology Engineer

NAVFAC EXWC is looking for a highly motivated Environmental Technology Engineer to join their Environmental Compliance Division. You will serve as a Project Manager and Environmental Technical Speciality Team Leader. This position is located in Port Hueneme, CA at Naval Base Ventura County.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute environmental in-service or other engineering/science projects
  • Develop detailed project management plans, identify resources, execute projects, track milestones, and complete projects within budget and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate integration or transfer of successfully demonstrated environmental technologies at DoD activities, solving operational problems and enabling warfighter mission. Technologies may address compliance with air, drinking/storm/wastewater, or solid/hazardous waste regulations, or promote increased installation resilience.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in at least one environmental media, and provide technical consulting to resolve problems, maintain environmental compliance, and enhance environmental protection at DoD activities
  • Effectively interact and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders working under DON and/or DoD s RTD&E programs for advancing new technologies enhancing environmental compliance at DoD activities
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, writing and reviewing technical guidance, plans, and reports and/or attending and presenting at installation/customer meetings, trainings, and/or seminars.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Physical Science or ABET-certified Engineering discipline
  • At least one year of related experience in an associate/mid-level position


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in development and application of innovative technologies to solve customer problems.
  • Knowledge of DON, DoD, and/or EPA environmental compliance policy
  • Field experience
  • Proficiency with data analysis and report writing


Federal Employment Requirements:

  • US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
  • Males registered or exempt from Selective Service www.sss.gov
  • Determined suitable for federal employment (process includes a background check and fingerprinting)
