Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): The Ceramics Student worker helps keep the Ceramics Studio organized, efficient and operating. The main duties relate to cleaning the Ceramics Studio, mixing clays and glazes, and assisting with firings.

Transferable Skills:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning of the Ceramics Studio (mopping, wiping surfaces, and organization)
  • Mix clays and glazes before they are depleted
  • Attend ceramics trainings with the Ceramics Faculty Member and the Technical Supervisor
  • Assist with firings (loading, lighting, monitoring, unloading, etc.)

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
  • Must have taken a Ceramics class at St. Olaf or have extensive prior training
  • This position requires promptness and attention to detail
  • Occasional night and weekend work
  • Must have availability at the end of fall and spring semesters (possible conflict with Christmas Fest, etc.)
