Patient Access Representatives Position Summary

The Patient Access Representatives are responsible for the capture of complete and accurate information including demographic and insurance data prior to patient arrival. This may include scheduling, pre-registration and insurance verification. Ensures that accounts meet payer requirements including pre-authorizations and waiver notification. Also investigates options to ensure payment and assist with advance payment requirements.

Patient Access Representative Position Requirements

Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Medical terminology required.
Experience
  • One to two years medical /business office experience.
  • Computer experience and keyboarding (typing) required.
  • Experience in healthcare billing, collection, or registration preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Requires four months on-the-job training.
Patient Access Representative Work Schedule
  • Primarily day shift, overtime as required.
Patient Access Representative Benefits
  • At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
