POSITION TITLE
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)
HOURS
2nd shift 4:45 pm to 3:00 am Monday-Friday and every other Saturday. Hours vary depending on daily production volume fluctuations and business requirements.
United Business Mail currently has an opening for a 2nd Shift Bilingual (English/Spanish) Production Supervisor in our Itasca facility located at 801 W. Bry Mawr. POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall day-to-day production activities and performance in his/her assigned area as it pertains to people, processes and equipment. This individual leads and manages a shift of 120-150 employees and is responsible for hiring, performance management, discipline, development and safety as well as creating and maintaining a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates at all levels.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide hands on direction, leadership, development and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement to meet current and future business requirements.
- Plan and manage the day-to-day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve performance targets as agreed with Production Management
- Prioritize and schedule maintenance and repairs and ensure they are completed to maximize efficiency.
- Coach team leads and production employees to develop their knowledge and skills, providing timely feedback, guidance and training to help them reach goals.
- Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understand internal and external regulations, procedures and policies and apply them fairly and consistently.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years supervisory experience managing 50+ direct reports in a production environment required; experience with USPS mail processing or in the direct mail industry strongly preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required (please do not apply unless you meet this requirement)
- Experience working with temporary labor a plus.
- Excellent people skills, a positive attitude and the ability to motivate people.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences and facilitate group coaching, information sharing and conflict resolution.
- Ability to change priorities to meet changing demands and adjust quickly to new responsibilities and tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time.
- Computer aptitude with proficiency in Excel
- Ability to work flexible shifts and additional hours as needed.
