This is a Camp, that is on an island in the Harbor
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position will be located in at a summer camp that runs from end of June-End of August. This person performs a variety of job responsibilities relating to keeping the kitchen area at the camp set up, clean and ready to go. There are opportunities to learn culinary skills to advance your career and potential to stay on in the fall at one of our other locations nearby.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
- Load and unload dishwashing machines
- Wash specific items by hand (e.g. cutting boards, large pots and pans)
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Help put away deliveries from the boat to the camp kitchen area and keep back of house organized.
- Assist with any light food prep work.
- Work as part of the team ensuring that meals are ready for campers and camp counselors.
- Set up workstations before meal prep begins
- Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
- Remove garbage regularly
- Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS- Work experience in a hospitality setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily and repeatedly as necessary.
- Must be okay with transportation by boat to the camp site daily.
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail and sanitation rules
- High school diploma is a plus
