Description

The Activities Assistant is responsible for leading resident activity programs, documentation, and other duties as designated by the Director of Activities. These programs will meet the needs and interests of each resident, encouraging optimal independence and functioning within the environment.

Assist the Activity Director in the planning, development, and implementation of activities which enrich the lives of the residents

Current Opening is for part time evenings. 20 hours per week, every other weekend required.

  • Proactively encourage and support residents' rights.
  • Lead small, medium, and large group activities.
  • Contribute to residents' care planning by completing and documenting assessments, care plan goals, approaches, and progress notes.
  • Document daily resident activity attendance, precautions list, one-to-one records
  • Cooperate and communicate with other departments in meeting the needs of the residents.
  • Conduct one-to-one activities
  • Work with volunteers who help with activities and assist in work direction of volunteers as needed.
  • Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to each activity, and clean up after each activity.
  • Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
  • Assist with development of the monthly calendar including providing creative input, ideas, and suggestions for programs and volunteer recruitment.
  • Assist with field trips and outings.
  • Maintain safe activity environment by using appropriate risk management, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and storage.
  • Attend staff in-services/meetings and educational seminars as required
  • Encourage resident and family participation in activities.
  • Assist Director in evaluating effectiveness of program, individual needs, and participation levels of each resident
  • Other duties as assigned
