Overview of position: The role of the Maintenance Technician s will work on all mechanical and equipment issues, preventative maintenance and minor electrical repairs as needed. S/he needs to know and understand the function and construction of the equipment and machine foundation and operation. S/he will communicate regularly with employees and management on equipment status. Job Functions Perform preventive maintenance on machinery in line with established programs and schedules. Must be able to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot machine problems to prevent serious mechanical failures Perform mechanical as well as electrical installations and repair on all machinery throughout the plant. Assist with daily startups and work with Production, Sanitation and FSQ on problem solving issues and improvements. Maintain proper records on all machines and maintenance work. Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a spare parts inventory. Specify and communicate spare parts needing to be procured.Perform work on refrigeration, PLC, Electromechanical, steam, freeze dry, wastewater and other systems as required. Comply with established internal LOTO Safety procedures. Work with Safety Coordinator and Plant Engineer on ergonomic and equipment modifications as needed. Complete all primary and secondary training required for the position. RequirementsMinimum ??1-3 years Maintenance Technician experience, food industry experience preferred.?Associates degree in industrial maintenance or similar field preferred. ?Experience working with industrial electronics and refrigeration PLC preferred. ?Proficient in using computers (g. Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Physical environment/working conditions: This position will be required to work frequently in and outdoors in a variety of environments such as, in a cooled sanitary environment with temperatures 45 degrees or below, outside in hot summer and cold winter temperatures. Infrequently around loud production equipment. Infrequently be exposed to high, precarious places (g. the roof).
