Summary
This is a heavy labor position performing the following storm water duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all phases of maintenance and repair or city streets and storm water drainage systems which may include drainage culverts, under and around bridges, storm water inlets, drainage channels and drainage basins.
- Use proper safety pre-cautions, personnel protective equipment and portable equipment including; chain saws, pole saws and grass trimmers during the cleaning and re-shaping of drainage channels and structures to ensure continuous flow of water during storms.
- Operates pickup trucks for transportation to and from the job site.
- May operate steel wheel rollers when assigned to assist in the repair or streets and alleys.
- Participates in activities relating to the Streets and Storm Water division, such as; asphalt and concrete roadway pavement repair, guardrail repairs, bridge and culvert maintenance to include reshaping.
- Perform mowing operations inside drainage easements/channels also tree trimming and debris removal
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and over 1 year experience in operation and maintenance.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Texas Class B (CDL) Driver's License and a clean driving record is required for this position. Driving is a requirement of this position.
