WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Healthcare Quality Manager plans, coordinates, implements, and tracks quality assurance and performance improvement for the skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care communities of Westminster Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay. The Healthcare Quality Manager works collaboratively with The Director of Quality Improvement and other stakeholders to develop quality improvement plans by conducting root cause analysis, identifying key control points and preventive measures, monitoring procedures and corrective actions, and implementing the PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) model for process improvement. Concurrent and retrospective data collection, abstraction, and review are critical functions of the role. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for improving healthcare outcomes by supporting and directing team members to ensure care and services are implemented at the highest quality standards.

* Develop and maintain current knowledge of quality measure requirements, interpretation, and application of such requirements to effectively evaluate compliance.

* Provide an efficient and effective routine for data collection processes to evaluate compliance with designated key performance indicators, quality measures, risk areas, or initiatives.

* Participate in designing and continuously improving clinical quality reports that track and trend clinical quality measures, risk areas, or initiatives.

* Communicate clearly and regularly (verbal and written) on data analysis results to support performance improvement.

* Investigate opportunities for care improvement and collaborate with team members in performance improvement action plans.

* Perform and/or facilitate the operational performance of root cause analysis on risk events, including falls, reportable incidents, etc.

* Provide additional analysis/drill-down of clinical quality improvement and recommend areas for improvement.

* Remain current with the evidence-based literature in quality improvement, post-acute, and long-term care.

* Participate in the review and revision of policies, procedures, and guidelines

* Plan and facilitate team member education on the QAPI process, effective documentation, EMR workflows, quality measures, and other quality management or innovation topics.

* Chair and facilitate the QAPI Committee.

* Foster enhancements and improvements in clinical outcomes through a superior commitment to quality, value, and enhanced recovery services.

* Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care, which may include coverage of essential departmental functions and services.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

* Bachelor of Science in Nursing, (Masters of Science in Nursing preferred).

* Registered Nurse authorized to practice in the State of Virginia.

* Minimum of two years in a nursing leadership role with experience in quality assurance and process improvement.

* The candidate must be a highly motivated and energetic multitasker who can manage pressure and adjustments tactfully and efficiently.

* Being a great communicator who can articulate instructions and manage conflict tactfully and professionally.

* Ability to collaborate, educate, and motivate others in quality improvement.

The physical requirements include mobility - the ability to climb or descend flights of stairs, standing or walking for extended periods.
