Timekeeping, Payroll Specialist - Accounting (Big Island, Full-Time, 40, Days)

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Performs timekeeping and schedule input functions in coordination with all unit/department managers to ensure accurate timecard records.

- Reviews and maintains accuracy of payroll and timekeeping data for payroll processing, documentation and records.

- Performs duties in accordance with applicable bargaining agreements and policies and procedures as established by the department and the Hospital.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching above/at/below shoulder, repetitive arm/hand motions, frequent gripping of an object

- Occasional: carrying usual weight of 10 pounds.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

- Subjected to noise and people walking through the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Business school degree/certificate in accounting or bookkeeping highly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

- Two (2) years administrative office work experience, preferably in payroll/scheduling in a comparable medical center.

- Experience to demonstrate:

o Ability to work with broad range of people.

o Ability to multi-task, meet deadline, and prioritize requests, projects, and routine responsibilities

- Experience in Kronos payroll system highly desirable.
