Role

Bottomline Technologies is looking to hire a Software Licensing Manager with an analytical mind and expertise in enterprise level systems, applications, and infrastructure. The Software Licensing Manager role is responsible for managing, supporting, reporting, and administering software and application products across the organization globally. The focus for this role will be the creation, implementation and subsequent administration of an end-to-end licensing management process for all systems level software. This position will report to the Director of Licensing & EOL Compliance within the Information Security Team.



This position can be based out of an open location in the United States



How you ll contribute:

  • Maintain systems level software inventory; compile and maintain inventory of company software licenses with associated systems assets for the purpose of tracking, compliance reporting & procurement feedback loop.
  • Software evaluation
  • Stakeholder in software acquisition.
  • Responsible for monitoring & reporting over/under utilization.
  • Analyze purchase records and other entitlement information to contribute to contract negotiation/pricing for new and existing publishers.
  • Contribute to terms negotiation process, conditions of sale and warranties of software applications with key suppliers/vendors.
  • Software Compliance: Understands product use rights, license allowances and contractual entitlements for software products and manufacturers (IBM, Oracle, VMware, RHEL, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Monitor licenses for compliance through software inventory scans; initiating corrective actions when non-compliance or over purchase opportunities arise.
  • Maintains a single license repository of all software compliance documentation, Proof of Purchase, Invoices, Certificates, Entitlements, Contracts, Master Agreements, etc.
  • Supports Internal and external software compliance audits.
  • Performs software audits on a regular basis.
  • Problem Solving Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Provides input and guidance to identify process deficiencies and analyze problems and solutions.
  • Strives to develop knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must display the ability to be a team player and work well with team members of all levels.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.



What will make you successful:

  • Bachelor s Degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software license management.
  • Required: Experience working with software licensing requirements across a broad spectrum of publishers and publisher types.
  • Required: Working knowledge of licensing renewal contracting language used in complex, comprehensive enterprise level agreements.
  • Familiarity and experience with software licensing and license use rights.
  • Experience with Flexera or similar asset/license management products that track software usage (Device42, SAM 1, Snow, ServiceNow, USU, etc.)
  • Strong communication, mathematical and financial analysis skills
