Job Details
The Utility AutoCAD Designer will play a pivotal role in supporting facilities capital projects by providing expert AutoCAD design and filing support. This role requires a strong understanding of utility infrastructure design principles, regulatory requirements, and project management processes. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- AutoCAD Design: Create detailed utility infrastructure drawings, including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems, using AutoCAD software.
- Filing Support: Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals, permits, and compliance requirements related to utility infrastructure projects.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate utility designs seamlessly into overall project plans.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all utility designs and filings adhere to relevant regulatory standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews of utility drawings and documentation to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in utility infrastructure design and filing processes, and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Communication: Effectively communicate project status, challenges, and resolutions to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software with a minimum of 5 years of experience in utility infrastructure design.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and filing processes related to utility infrastructure projects.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings and documentation.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in facilities management or construction industry is a plus
