ISC s team of Recruiters is partnering with a leading property management company, that owns and manages apartment communities, hotels, mixed-use and commercial properties, on a Director of Accounting opportunity. The company s portfolio of hotels is luxury approaching luxury full service and the ideal candidate for this role is a sharp accounting leader (CPA) with an excellent track record of overseeing a team of staff accountants and reporting into C-Suite/Presidential level.
In this Corporate Director role, you will oversee the accounting team and all accounting functions, including rent collection, financial statement production/review and GL Debits/Credits within property management bookkeeping. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Controller or Accounting Director looking to grow while making an impact overseeing financial review and analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance and refining reporting protocols. Our client is stable and growing, including large capital projects in the works. This Director of Accounting role affords direct exposure to C-Suite and ownership.
Director of Accounting Requirements- To qualify, you should have the following:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or related field, required
- years operational accounting experience, coming out of a private company (not a firm)
- required
- leadership experience, including minimum 5 years leading team of 10 or more staff accountants, including at least 3 direct reports
- have reported into C-Suite or Presidential level
- to be in-office 5 days a week, with some flexibility after first 90 days
- Working knowledge of Yardi, a plus

Director of Accounting Responsibilities- The duties for the role are as follows:
- Lead Accounting Team, delegating and overseeing all property management bookkeeping tasks for 3-4 direct reports and larger team of 20
- Spearhead accounting functions, from rent collections to financial statement production and review
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly financial statements
- Establish and enforce appropriate policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Collaborate with Director of Finance and external tax firms to prepare schedules for year-end tax returns and financial statements and conduct internal audits
- Address one-off accounting-related issues/projects
- Demonstrate willingness to teach/mentor, creating environment of ongoing learning/improvement
- Stay on top of industry trends
- Contribute to team and company-wide engagement initiatives
