Plant Manager

Summary:

Our client in the Shelbyville, Kentucky area is looking to add a Plant Manager to their growing team. Our client is a stable organization that continues to grow and expand its national presence. This is a hands-on role that will have an opportunity to drive positive change through the entire operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and controls safety with goal of zero recordable incidents
  • Oversee plant operations such as production schedule, shipping and receiving, and stock
  • Evaluates controls and organizes labor
  • Examine Processes and design plans to effectively use available resources
  • Analyze production costs and inventory to establish areas for improvement
  • Controls and allocates resources for the plant and office
  • Monitors and controls implementation of freight guidelines
  • Develops systems to assure proper, timely, and cost effective repairs and maintenance of facility equipment
  • Responsible for ensuring the manufacture of parts that meet the quality requirements
  • Evaluate internal and customer quality issues to determine or assist in determining reject cause and subsequent corrective action
  • Responsible for communicating plant issues, concerns, and general activities


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree
  • 10 years of management experience preferably within a production/manufacturing industry
  • Strong management, supervisory, verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organization skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and ability to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
