Titan America, LLC has an immediate opening for an Production Superintendent- Alternative Fuels for our Pennsuco Cement Division in Medley, FL. This salary exempt position is assigned to the Alternative Fuels and Materials department and will report solid line to the Production Area Manager and dotted line to the AFR Corporate director. The primary function of this position is to organize and oversees overall operation of the AF processing facility (called PEF) and coordinate AF deliveries and support development of sourcing opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and manages the P&L of the PEF facility with all major components of feed stock, suppliers, personnel, operational efficiency, maintenance, cost, and capital projects. The main objective is to provide full capacity utilization of the facility with optimum quality and lower total cost of the final product (processed alternative fuel)
  • Ensure safe operations of the facility, its employees, and contractors, following Pennsuco cement Safety processes and MSHA rules and other Safety regulations.
  • Ensure environmental compliance, cleanness, and regular housekeeping of the facility.
  • Manage, organize, and develop the team in the facility aiming for overall high effectiveness of the team.
  • Maintain relationship with Alternative Fuels suppliers and haulers companies.
  • Coordinate the deliveries of feedstock and other materials from different customers and suppliers in alignment with inventories and usage.
  • Serve as liaison between the plant and the customers, suppliers, and service providers for daily needs, providing both ways feedback to continuously improve the operation.
  • Asist in the evaluation and implementation of new AFR sources,
  • Working with staff, ensure proper functionality of the Alternative Fuels equipment installed at the Pennsuco Plant and maximize the throughput in coordination with plant production staff and management.
  • Coordinate and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the area and ensure cleanliness of Alternative Fuels equipment and areas.
  • Responsible for cost control monitoring, providing recommendations and implementing actions towards an optimized production cost and maximum plant efficiency.
  • Utilizing the DOMO, SAP, and EAM systems, create and maintain necessary records and KPIs for performance review, accounting, and audit trails, preparing reports as requested.
  • Provide Director of Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials, and cement plant managers with information regarding the Alternative Fuels system operations.
  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions that are needed to improve or correct performance.

Qualifications:

  • Safety minded.
  • Collaborative leader that understands how to communicate and influence others for greater results.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus.
  • College degree or five or more years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to understand the technological process of Alternative Fuels Installation through training on such equipment on site.
  • Ability to Understand cement chemistry and the production process to optimize AF utilization.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and of related safety practices.
  • Base Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations for the protection of people and property.
  • Base Knowledge production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing performance of industrial environments.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals. Must be able to enter and retrieve data from a computer.
  • Maintain a current Florida Driver s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work outside of normal hours when necessary.
  • Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to one hundred pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to fifty.
