JOOLA is for looking for an experienced Associate Apparel Designer with a passion for growth and interest in pickleball and table tennis!

The Associate Apparel Designer will play a key role in supporting the design team in all aspects of the apparel design process. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented individual to collaborate with experienced designers, contribute to the development of new collections, and bring innovative concepts to life. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, a strong sense of style, and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities


  • Support the design and development of innovative Pickleball and Table Tennis Softline products for JOOLA. This includes creating sketches, mock-ups, and prototypes, as well as utilizing technical skills to ensure the functionality and durability of the garments.
  • Prepare fit sessions by organizing samples, reviewing, comparing previous proto samples, and compiling initial fit comments before each session.
  • Provide detailed fit comments for each fit sample which may include fit photos, fit comments, and updates to sketches and technical packs.
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining the Softline fabric library, all color submits and approvals, trims library, and Softline sample room.
  • Manage all digital libraries in the PLM system.
  • Work closely with a team of professionals including designer, product developers, sales, and marketers.
  • Ensure Timely and Quality Execution of deadlines.
  • Responsible for creating technical packs for the Softline apparel products and maintaining updated files throughout the design and development process.
  • Ensure that all Marketing and Sales tools for the Apparel products are up to date at all times.
  • Stayup to date with current market trends in both the fashion and sports industries.
  • Assist with Special Projects as Assigned.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Patternmaking, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Apparel Design
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and 2D digital pattern making. Experience with 3D is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and PLM programs
  • Ability to create technical sketches using computer software tools as well as manual sketches
  • Knowledge of basic pattern making, fit, garment construction, and sample measuring
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical and mathematical skills with acute attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in Rockville, MD (in-office)
