Job Details

Qualifications:
3+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated leadership and human relation skills and ability to supervise in a team based environment.
Preferred
High school education /Technical school
Above average verbal and competent written communication skills.
Knowledge of quality and safety principles.
Ability to make independent decisions.
Ability to work regularly in a production environment.


Responsibilities:
- Work with Assembly Supervisor 2 to supervise 60-70 hourly union production workers.
- Lead safety efforts in areas of responsibility and ensures that all associates are trained in, understand, and practice safe work habits.
- Work with production planning to maximize service levels while maintaining production productivity goals.
- Work with Assembly Supervisor 2 to coordinate efforts between Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Engineering to identify and resolve quality issues to ensure that product goals and objectives are achieved.
- Conduct appropriate cross training of employees to ensure that adequate numbers of fully qualified individuals are capable of performing all tasks within assigned areas.
- Work with Assembly Supervisor to coordinate with Maintenance Department to ensure maximum availability and up-time on all production and support equipment.
- Coordinate with Assembly Supervisor and Human Resources in the handling of all disciplinary matters, manpower moves, departmental changes, and other employee matters as necessary.
- Administer and review daily and weekly production and labor reporting systems.
- Move to other shifts to fill in for vacations and illness.
