MAU is hiring an Events Assistant in Augusta, GA. As an Events Assistant, you will assist the Leasing Coordinator in managing the Marion Hatcher Center venue while guests attend events. You will ensure the venue is maintained to standard throughout the events, and occasionally assist with cleaning and flipping the venue, when necessary. This is a contract long-term assignment.
Shift Information
- Nights and weekends as required
- Typically, 5 - 6 hours on weekend evenings
- More than 8 hours per shift as needed

Preferred Requirements - Prior venue/events/catering experience
- Food and beverage experience
Essential Functions - Ensure the rules and guidelines of the MHC are followed
- When necessary, blow sidewalks, steps, and courtyard
- Ensure the handicap lift is working and being used properly
- Perform light maintenance, such as changing lightbulbs, unclogging toilets, etc.
- Set up and take down tables and chairs both inside and outside the building
- On occasion, handle full responsibility of events and fill in for the Leasing Coordinator
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Work Environment or Working Conditions - Responsibilities will be performed both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions
Physical Demands This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift 25 - 50 pounds periodically, and 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 12 hours
- Ability to climb 3 flights of stairs multiple times a day
