CAD Designer (Civil Engineering)

BGE is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to join a great team in one of our North Texas offices (Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco)

Responsibilities:

  • Use Autodesk Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Able to provide Continuous Improvement input
  • Able to lead CAD activities on multi-disciplinary projects
  • May manage CAD Library for discipline
  • Take a wholistic view of the project and provides conceptual input to projects during the planning stages
  • Develop a trusted relationship with engineers based on sound and successful demonstrated input and outcomes
  • Prepare detail and layout drawings and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
  • Develop and follow individual quality control process for the incorporation of provided mark-ups and deliverables
  • Ensure output is professional and consistent with prevailing standards
  • Interface with other groups, CAD personnel, subconsultants, and project engineers in order to support project production.
  • Provide guidance to and collaborate with other CAD staff within group
  • Complete redlines for modification of existing plans and notes or preparation of new details or design elements.
  • Complete construction plan sets by compiling all plan, profile, note and detail sheets to present a comprehensive design.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • 10+ years' experience in design
  • Experience with Revit
  • Experience in AutoCAD in a civil design capacity
  • Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using your own judgment in making adaptations and modifications to drawings


Preferred

  • Associate's degree
  • Experience with Civil3D
  • Experience in Bluebeam, Navisworks, and Enscape software packages
