Job Description

The Sponsored Receivables Accountant I (SRAI) serves as the resource for monthly invoicing, AR follow-up, PMS drawdown requests, and earned milestone revenue recognition processes related to grants, contracts, clinical trials, and sponsored programs from federal, industry, state, and non-profits. This position works with internal and external stakeholders ensuring revenue, receivables, and fund balances are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The successful applicant must function well in a high work-load environment requiring prioritizing and meeting deadlines; must take initiative, exercising independent judgment and discretion; must be detail-oriented; and must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department and CNE system. Responsibilities 1. 60%: Invoicing and Billing Management (including, but not limited to, billing and invoicing, interpreting open AR balance follow-up requests for payment, preparing credit memos/refunds due to sponsors) 2. 35%: Maintain cumulative milestone cash receipts workbook, process earned milestone revenue, and analysis of milestone revenue to cash receipts. 3. 5%: Preparing monthly PMS drawdown requests. Job Qualifications and Specifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. 2. Experience in revenue recognition, invoicing, and cash application, Lawson a plus. 3. Experience using research administration systems, Payment Management System (PMS), ACM$, and eRA Commons. 4. Experience facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork. 5. Evidence of ability to work independently. 6. Evidence of problem-solving skills. 7. Evidence of the ability to take initiative. 8. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications- Excel Required.
